Broadale Medical Centre
Pain-free and back to the things you love.
Waiting for a hip or knee replacement in Ireland? The public list is often 2 to 4 years, sometimes longer. That’s a long time to live with pain, stiffness and the things you’ve quietly stopped doing.
Broadale Medical Centre now works together with the Dutch Hip and Knee Clinic (DHKC) in Amsterdam, a specialist clinic treating hip and knee replacements exclusively — including regular Irish patients — under the EU Cross Border Directive (CBD).
Through the CBD, your treatment costs are reimbursed by the HSE. No private insurance needed. Typical timeline from first contact to surgery is a matter of weeks, not years. Most patients are home within 5 days and walking with support the next morning.
If you recognise any of the following, it may be worth an assessment:
- Persistent hip or knee pain, even at rest or at night
- Morning stiffness lasting more than 30 minutes
- Difficulty walking, climbing stairs, or getting out of a chair
- You’ve changed how you walk, or stopped doing things you used to enjoy
Ask your GP at Broadale about a referral to DHKC — or contact DHKC directly for an honest, no-obligation assessment of whether surgery is the right next step for you.
